Meet The Team

LaKrista O’Dell
Owner/RN, NRT Practitioner
Hi, I'm LaKrista! I'm an RN, Holistic Nutritionist, Health Coach, Nutrition Response Testing Practitioner, and owner of Native Wellness.
In 2008, I graduated from nursing school with a drive and a passion for helping people. Fast forward about 5 years into my career and I found myself burning out... and fast. I came to the realization that no one was getting better, medication lists kept getting longer, and my gut was telling me something had to change. I wanted to be that change.
In 2014, I woke up with some strange pains in my left wrist. The physical therapist I worked with at the time told me that I had carpal tunnel and gave me a brace. The very next day, the pain was in my right wrist, but my left didn't hurt at all. The pain continued to jump from one joint to the next until one day my lips, face, hands, and feet started to swell. By the end of the day, my feet were so swollen, I was unable to walk. I went to the ER only to be sent home discouraged with a possible diagnosis of Lyme disease. After multiple appointments and medications, I was finally diagnosed with Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis. I was completely devastated. I was 27 years old and in terrible pain all the time.
In 2016, I became pregnant with my 3rd child and had to stop all of my medications. As you can imagine, all of my symptoms intensified very rapidly. My midwife sent me to a Nutrition Response Testing Practitioner and within a few weeks, my symptoms had drastically improved! I couldn't believe it! I started referring everyone I knew! The only issue is that she was almost 2 hours away and the people I had referred were struggling to get to her. I knew there had to be a solution. Remember when I said I wanted to be the change?
Not long after, I quit my job and took off to Florida for training to become a practitioner and I never looked back! Now I practice full-time as a Nutrition Response Testing Practitioner and have continued to expand my knowledge over the years. I've also acquired my Holistic Nutritionist and Holistic Health Coaching certifications.
"Medicine is not healthcare. Food is healthcare. Medicine is sick care. Let's all get this straight for a change."

Amber Ball
NRT Practitioner
Hey there, I'm Amber! I started my nursing career at Duncan Regional Hospital on the Labor & Delivery unit. Supporting new moms during one of the greatest moments of life was one of the best jobs possible. I transitioned from L&D to Home Health Care for a better schedule and to be closer to home. I spent 13 years helping homebound patients reclaim their health through IV therapy, wound care, and education. My most recent experience is in rural Med-Surg nursing. I love caring for our local community and watching as they regain their independence and I enjoy learning new ways to help patients achieve optimal health.
One thing I have learned for certain, is continuing education is vital for nurses, as the medical community is always evolving. In recent years, I have developed a desire to blend holistic medicine with traditional medicine to give clients the very best outcomes. My desire to blend holistic with traditional medicine was inspired by my best friend, LaKrista O’Dell. She and her practice are such an asset to our community and she is so passionate about helping others live their best and healthiest lives through lifestyle modifications and holistic treatment. Her passion is contagious and I am beyond excited to join the Native Wellness Team!
When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, crafting, and reading. I am married to my husband of 26 years, Justin. We have 2 amazing kiddos, Taylor & Alexis and were just blessed with our first grandbaby, Sawyer.

Hi, I’m Brooke Henderson!
I became a nurse practitioner in 2016 & have been honored to gain experience in endocrinology, GI and primary care over the years!
Before the medical field, my first true love was fitness which lead me to become a certified personal trainer in 2011.
Fast forward- God lead me to create a company in 2020, called Fitbrooke.
Fitbrooke was able to combine my medical background with my love for fitness to help men and women achieve their personal goals with proper nutrition and exercise.

Megan Todd
Office
I am the Jill of all trades of the office. God brought me to Native Wellness through a season of pruning for both the office and my own life but boy oh boy has He blessed it. I love everything I have the pleasure of learning in this position and take it as an honor to bear witness and even be another vessel in the healing of others.
My journey has been in pursuit of the emotional healing of myself and others. After all, the nervous system is responsible for so much of our health.
I have always believed that through holistic health and God the Father every aspect of your health can recover.
I’ve seen it in myself and my family.
Outside of the office I am a Mama of 5 beautiful children, former foster and now adoptive mom, and have a passion for all things creative—from decorating to painting or writing.
My children and I love to thrift and you can usually find us with a coffee or boba in hand inside a junktique store of some kind.
We love the idea of finding old treasures and giving them a new life.
I guess you can say my entire vibe is about restoration, rehabilitation, and making beauty from ashes. Something I pray to carry into Native Wellness.

Natasha McAfee
Office
Hi, I’m Natasha—the friendly face you’ll see when you walk into Native Wellness Holistic Health. I’m here to make you feel welcome, answer your questions, and help create a peaceful, comforting experience.
My passion for natural health began when my children were young and deepened as the Lord began walking me and my family through healing from severe mold illness—through prayer, natural medicine and the power of Jesus.
Outside the clinic, I’m a homeschool mama who loves baking from scratch, spending time outdoors, and making memories with my husband and our two kids—whether we’re fishing, hiking, chasing sunsets, or just enjoying quiet moments together. I’m grateful to be part of a place where faith, natural healing, and holistic well-being come together.

Jill Garst
RN, BCFM
Hi ya’ll, I’m Jill. I’ve been a RN for 28 years. I became a nurse because I loved babies and I wanted to help bring them into the world. I worked in L & D, antepartum, postpartum, and newborn nursery for 15 years. I also taught birthing classes, breastfeeding classes, and CPR/Choking classes for new parents during that time.
Once I discovered my passion for teaching, I worked as a clinical adjunct instructor for Oklahoma Christian University for 7 years. I truly enjoyed training nursing students to be the best nurses they could possibly be.
During that time I started educating myself about harmful chemicals and we started making changes in our home. That lead to more and more self education which launched me into the world of holistic/alternative therapies. Then, I was let go from my job for refusing to get a flu vaccine so I walked away from my nursing career for 5 years. I stayed busy with continuing education and homeschooling my kids.
Then in 2020, right at the peak of COVID, my mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She decided to go the traditional medical route and started chemo treatments within 2 weeks of diagnosis. Because of the pandemic, she was stuck in a hospital for an entire month all alone. She went through hard core chemo treatments and lost her hair…all alone! For 9 months I helplessly watched the medical system fail her over and over again until the day they caused her death. That broke me!!
By that time I had already decided that I could never go back to work in a hospital. I had learned too much about other modalities for health and wellness and I had a strong desire to pursue Functional Medicine. In September of 2021, 5 months after losing my mom, I started functional medicine school. I finished school and became board certified in Functional Medicine in February of 2024 at the age of 50!
In my free time I love spending time with my family, going camping (in a RV of course), crafting, and writing children’s books (I currently have 26 books published on Amazon.) I have been married for almost 30 years; I have 2 grown kids who are both married, and 2 awesome grand-babies who are my world!
As a Christian, I believe that God designed our bodies to function perfectly but we tend to mess it up. With the proper tools and a little guidance, we can fix the dysfunction and allow the body to heal itself!
I don’t want to see anyone else suffer like my mom did. I can’t wait to truly start helping people and I’m so excited to be a part of the team at Native Wellness!!
